Course Details
The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Aerospace at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is a three-year undergraduate engineering programme designed for students who want to explore the science and technology behind aircraft, spacecraft, satellites and advanced aerospace systems.
The programme combines mathematics, physics, mechanics, materials science, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and computer science with specialist aerospace subjects. Students develop an understanding of how complex engineering systems are designed, analysed and tested through laboratory courses, engineering projects and practical learning.
Taught entirely in English, the programme welcomes qualified German and international applicants. Students study across TUM's Garching and Ottobrunn locations and benefit from the university's links with the aerospace and engineering sectors in Bavaria.
With 180 ECTS credits over six semesters, the degree provides a foundation for entry-level engineering opportunities and further postgraduate study, including the TUM Master's programme in Aerospace, subject to the relevant admission requirements.
Degree level: Undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Aerospace
Study duration: Three years, comprising six semesters and 180 ECTS credits.
Teaching language: English, with German language proficiency at A2 level required for admission.
Study locations: Garching and Ottobrunn in the Munich region of Germany.
Learning approach: Engineering theory, laboratory work, technical projects, electives and internship experience.
Admission process: Recognised university entrance qualification, required language proficiency and successful completion of TUM's aptitude assessment.
